Week 19 January 2014: People On the Move – Asset Management

“C PFA, Denmark’s largest commercial pension fund, has appointed Allan Polack(pictured) as chief executive. He will take up his new role on April 1, replacing Henrik Heideby, who left PFA in December. Mr Polack will be replaced in his previous role as head of asset management at Nordea by Christian Hyldahl, the head of investments for the €166bn Nordic asset manager.

C Bruce Duguid has joined the engagement team at Hermes Equity Ownership Services, which advises institutional shareholders with £134bn in assets. The aptly named Mr Duguid has wide experience advising on ESG issues and was previously head of sustainability and green impact at the UK Green Investment Bank.

C John Donohue will oversee $31bn in assets as the new head of liquidity management for RBC Global Asset Management. Mr Donohue was previously head of institutional cash management services at Eaton Vance.

C Lombard Odier Investment Managers, the $54bn asset management arm of the Swiss private bank, has named Théodore Economou as chief investment officer of LOIM’s multi-asset business. Mr Economou recently served as chief executive of the Cern pension fund.

C Nasdaq has appointed Salil Donde as head of global information services. He will lead the exchange operator’s data and indexing business. Mr Donde, who was previously chief executive of Lewtan Technologies, a data provider acquired in October by Moody’s, replaces John Jacobs, who has retired.

Two hires for the hedge fund advisory arm atDeutsche Asset & Wealth ManagementMihir Meswani and Nicolas Laporte have joined as portfolio managers from Mount Yale Capital and British Airways pension fund respectively.

C Greg Finck has joined Morgan Stanley Investment Management as a portfolio manager and head of the securitised team for MSIM’s fixed income platform. Mr Finck was previously at Fortress, the $66bn US investment manager.

C Angelien Kemna has joined the board of RPMI Railpen, the UK railway pension scheme. Ms Kemna, a former finance professor at Maastricht University, is currently chief finance and risk officer at APG, the €396bn Dutch pension manager.

C Peter Wennink, the chief executive of ASML, the semiconductor-equipment supplier, has joined the investment committee of ABP, the €334bn Dutch public employees pension fund.

C Aviva Investors, the £240bn asset management arm of Aviva, has hired Louise Kay as global head of sales from Standard Life Investments.

C Gaston Brandes has moved to Grosvenor Fund Management, the £3.2bn property investment group, as director of capital markets for Europe from UBS Global Asset Management.

C Guillaume Abel has joined Candriam Investors, the €78bn European asset manager owned by New York Life, as global head of marketing from Amundi, the French asset manager.

C Liam Nunn has moved from Schroders to Old Mutual Global Investors, the £17.4bn asset management arm of the insurance group, as an analyst.” source ft.com
